Military Church Parade marches in honour

The Military Church Parade and Veterans Memorial Ceremony met at the Prince George Cemetery this morning.

Flags commemorating fallen soldiers lined the walkways leading to the memorial where around 100 people gathered in remembrance and solidarity.

“As a woman who is the child of two veterans, it means everything to come out and remember,”  said Susan Scott, Chaplain for the Royal Canadian Legion and the Prince George Fire Rescue Service.

“For us to be inclusive of people of every faith tradition, or no tradition at all, it’s still a time of remembrance and this is the place to come.”

The Royal Canadian Legion, the RCMP, Rocky Mountain Rangers B Coy/2618 and the Rocky Mountain Ranger Army Cadets, Navy League Cadets, the 396 Air Cadets, and Royal Canadian Sea Cadets all participated in the ceremony.
