Operation Red Nose gearing up for a busy weekend

Operation Red Nose is entering its second weekend of service this evening.

Spokesperson Andrea Johnson says historically this is a busy weekend. On Saturday night last year alone 136 rides were provided. To deal with the demand the operation will have 20 teams on the road.

Red Nose also is continuing their drive for volunteers. Anyone that would like to volunteer as a driver, navigator or call taker can sign up at ornpg.ca. They currently have 200 volunteers signed up and their goal at the start of the campaign was 450.

If you need a free safe ride home with your vehicle this weekend just call 250-962-7433 (RIDE) between 9pm and 3am. Information that clients must provide is their phone number, their pick-up and drop-off location, and the make and model of their vehicle. You must have B.C. plates in order to be driven home.
