Accused puppy thief facing a long list of charges

A man well known to Prince George RCMP is facing several charges stemming from an investigation started by a stolen puppy.

Early December 4th police received the initial report of a stolen puppy. Through investigation they found that the perpetrator, Ryan Chiappe was also suspected of assault, uttering threats and possession of stolen property.

Later that day Chiappe was pulled over and found in possession of the stolen dog while a warrant executed at a residence associated with him on Minotti Drive located two stolen motor bikes.

Ryan Chiappe is facing the following charges;

• Assault Causing Bodily Harm
• Assault
• Obstructing Justice
• Extortion
• Uttering Threats
• Theft Under $5000 (2 counts)
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000 (2 counts)
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000

Prince George RCMP is very familiar with Chiappe and have come into contact with him nearly 100 times since 2007.
