RCMP snatch four impaired drivers this weekend

It likely was not the start Prince George RCMP wanted for this year’s Counter Attack initiative.

Additional officers were out conducting roadblocks and traffic stops this past weekend in an effort to keep the roads safe for drivers in the northern capital. In total, four impaired drivers were taken off the road, six vehicles were impounded, and 36 violation tickets were issued.

“The Prince George RCMP wants to thank all of those who made the correct choice to get a safe ride home and to those who demonstrated patience during the roadblocks”, said Sgt. Matthew LaBelle of the Prince George RCMP in a statement.

Police remind residents to plan ahead for a safe ride home by using a designated driver, taxi, or programs such as Operation Red Nose.
