Ahac to compete in international tournament

Prince George Spruce Kings defenceman Layton Ahac has been selected to play for Team Canada West in the World Junior ‘A’ Challenge.

The 17-year-old is one of seven defencemen and 22 players on the team.

The five-team tournament begins Sunday and runs until December 16th in Bonnyville, Alberta.

14 of the players come from the BCHL.

Other participants include Canada East, Czech Republic, Russia and the United States.

Another Spruce Kings blueliner, Nich Bochen, attended the camp in Calgary but was among the cuts.

Bochen replaced Dylan Anhorn (19) of Prince George who is on the injured list.
