UPDATE: PG RCMP investigating stolen vehicle incident

UPDATE – 5:17PM

A 34-year-old Prince George man, well known to PG RMCP, is in custody following a stolen vehicle incident.

Police received a report of a stolen 2010 Chevrolet pickup truck from a local business’ parking lot just before noon Friday. They found it in the College Heights area a little later and initiated surveillance along with Air 3, the RCMP helicopter. Police did not pursue the vehicle, citing public safety.

The vehicle left the area driving in a dangerous and aggressive manner northbound on Ospika Boulevard. The driver made efforts to avoid being boxed in by police and subsequently collided with a civilian vehicle and an unmarked police truck. The driver of the civilian vehicle and a police officer suffered minor injuries and both the stolen truck and police truck received “significant” damage.

The investigation in ongoing.
