Family doctors a plenty in PG according to GP group

Everyone in Prince George who wants a family doctor can now get one.

That’s the claim made by the Prince George Division of Family Practice as they’ve seen doctors accepting patients on an ongoing basis for the past 12 months.

President Dr. Garry Knoll says they’ve been finding this through their connections with family doctors.

“We know that our members are able to measure the number of patients, that they have on their lists,” says Knoll, “and we just do the math, and we have a pretty good information about almost all the physicians who do full family practice.”

Knoll says they are confident that 80,000 PG citizens are now attached to a family doctor.

He says between 7-10% of citizens are not looking for a family doctor.
