Mayor Hall asks for patience from residents in the wake of snow fall

The Northern Capital has finally seen winter rear its head, and it’s not an easy task cleaning up the aftermath, according to Mayor Lynn Hall.

“We’ve seen over two feet of snowfall within 24 hours, so we’re really trying to get to every road and street that we have, but it’s going to take some time, so I would ask that folks are very patient,” he said.

“We know that there are difficult areas to get around right now, but we are going to get to them.”

According to him, the city is still working on priority one and two areas, but once they get into residential they will be plowing driveways as well.

“Our procedure is to do priority ones within 48 hours. We might be a little bit beyond that right now, but it’s only because of the magnitude of the snow.”

“We know every year when we have a snow falls like this we’re going to hear people commend us for the work that we do and we’re going to hear from people who have concerns about the work that they would like to see us do, and quite often, it’s about timing.”

“We’re working our way through this, we’ve got crews working 24 hours a day, we’re trying to get through this as quick as we can.”

Hall said if residents have an issue with a particular street they can contact the service line  250-561-7600.
