Local MMA fighter facing a new batch of charges

A new slew of charges have been approved against a man already facing over a dozen. Local MMA fighter Ryan Chiappe is already barred from Prince George except to attend court.

On November 21st, 2014, Prince George RCMP pulled Chiappe over in a vehicle in an alley off Carney Street. During the stop, more than 10 grams of heroin was found. Ryan Chiappe and a 28 year old passenger were arrested without incident. The passenger was released without charge and Chiappe was released to appear in court in 2015. The uninsured vehicle was towed and tickets were issued to Chiappe, street value of the drugs is estimated to be in excess of $4000.

Then during the night of November 25th, 2014, the Prince George RCMP pulled Chiappe over in the same vehicle, this time on Ogilvie Street. Ryan and the 27 year old female passenger Martha Paquette, were found with over 2 ounces of methamphetamine, 3.5 grams of cocaine, drug trafficking gear and a large sum of cash. Both were arrested and released on court documents, street value of the seized drugs is estimated to be in excess of $5000.

He is now facing three counts of possession with the intent of trafficking and one count of possession of a controlled substance.

He is also facing a handful of charges for breaching the terms of his release from custody following the alleged theft of a puppy and assault charges.

He currently remains in custody until he appears in Mackenzie court later today.
