PG Airport offers tips for busy travel season

The Christmas season is one of the busiest times of the year for travelling and the PG Airport is offering some tips to make your trip easier and more efficient.

Lindsay Cotter, Communications Manager with the Airport Authority says planning ahead is key, and advises checking the weather report not only for PG, but also your destination at YXS’ website.

She also advises you to check for baggage restrictions and place your identification on the inside and outside of your bag, recommending CATSA’s website to “Pack Smart”.

When brining gifts, Cotter says you should leave them unwrapped, as they may be opened when screened, and to also not pack fragile or valuable items in your checked luggage, instead she says you should pack it as “carry-on” luggage or ship it.

The Airport Authority advises arriving at least 60 minutes before your flight time and plan to come even earlier if you’re parking a vehicle.

“If given the option, check in online,” Cotter says. “It will save you time. Most airlines offer this service 24 hours before the departure time of the flight.”
