City of Prince George seeking grant applicants

The City of PG is on the hunt for those who want to launch and sustain great ideas, events, and projects in the Northern Capital.   

The Community Enhancement Grant, the myPG Community Grant, and the Celebrate Prince George Community Grant give non-profit organizations financial support to get good, locally sourced ideas off the ground.

The applications are now available at www.princegeorge.ca under the “Grants and Financial Assistance” section. The application deadline for these grants is March 15, 2019.

myPG Community Grant

Non-profit organizations that work in a community know its strengths and potential and have ideas on how to make the city a better place for everyone. City of Prince George myPG Community Grants are designed to help local organizations develop and implement innovative activities, which contribute to making Prince George a great community. Celebrate Prince George Grant

Non-profit organizations that offer community celebrations at any point in the year could qualify to receive support through this City and Tourism PG partnership. The program aims to foster a celebratory atmosphere that will attract visitors to our community. Please note that this grant is for the 2020 event season. Community Enhancement Grant

This grant program offers the community an opportunity to improve neighbourhoods and foster civic pride. These grants range from $200 to a maximum of $1,000. Contact: Marta Gregor at 250-561-7798 or [email protected]

City Council waiting for more information before saying yes to World Cup watch parties

Prince George City Council has decided to wait for more information before making a decision on hosting watch parties for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.At Wednesday's meeting, City Council discussed a notice of motion put forward by Councillors Ron Polillo and Cori Ramsay, directing staff to work with a few local organizations to plan and execute outdoor watch parties to be held at Canada Games Plaza.
