Student research partnership reached between UNBC and Rio Tinto

Rio Tinto is providing $450,000 over the next three years to assist with programs at UNBC to help promote a number of interests and values.

The main focus will be on the research and analysis of the current socio-economic state within the Nechako Watershed Region to go along with common interests areas such as the environment as well as additional learning opportunities for UNBC students.

This is expected to include getting students involved in hands-on research programs as well as co-op placements and internships with Rio Tinto.

Both parties announced the partnership at the BC Natural Resources Forum in Prince George.
