Quack Quack ! first annual Duck Drop proves to be massive hit

Prince George residents braved the wind and showed they gave a Duck about health care in the north.

Spirit of the North Health Care Foundation, Vista Radio and the Aberdeen Helicopters teamed up for the first ever Duck Drop at CN Centre.

After the ducks dropped from the sky, Spirit of the North CEO, Judy Neiser told My PG Now it was great to see the corporate and public worlds come together to support health care.

“To have an event like this that is so incredibly sponsored and people coming out to see it, it’s just a wonderful day actually and however it ends up being for the winner the fact that healthcare in the north got better today is amazing.”

With the winter conditions and the helicopter dropping the ducks straight down, Neiser believes it was a great experience for everyone.

“It’s pretty unique, isn’t it? I think it is pretty amazing where there is something for everybody and it is such a beautiful day. I couldn’t be happier.”

When asked if she wanted to do this all over again next year, Neiser responded with a resounding yes.

“Without a doubt. Absolutely. I think it will just continue to grow and these were little ducks this and heaven knows what we’ll be doing next year.”

Barry Whitfield took home the top prize, which was a trip for two anywhere Westjet flies along with $2000 cash.

The second place duck belonged Bryan Shelford who received a gift card and cash.
