BC Bus North announces changes to Valemount-Prince George route

BC Bus North will be making a schedule change to Route 200 between Valemount and Prince George, which will become effective March 11, 2019.

Since the launch of BC Bus North last year, the ministry has gathered feedback from customers using the service, which offers four routes to the northern communities of British Columbia.

With people using the route indicating a preference for reversing the route — having it originate in Valemount in the morning, rather than Prince George — the ministry explored the possibility of altering the route.

As a result, it has been decided to have Route 200 originate in the Robson Valley in the morning. From there, the route will travel to Prince George and return later in the evening.

With the bus being parked in McBride overnight, people will be able to travel from McBride to Valemount at 6 a.m., before the bus leaves Valemount at 7 a.m.

The arrival time for the bus in Prince George is 10:30 a.m., and then departing for its return trip to Valemount at 2:30 p.m.

The route will continue to operate on both Monday and Friday.

The ministry also announced schedule changes to Route 300 from Fort St. John to Prince George with the daylight savings time change on March 10, 2019.
