Otway set to host first Teck BC Cup race of 2015

The Caledonia Nordic Ski Club is hosting its final major race at Otway before the Canada Winter Games this weekend. This weekend should act as a practice run for volunteers and facilities.

Ski Club spokesperson Cal Benson says Saturday’s sprints will be great for spectators, “Tomorrow race, the sprints will be almost completely viewable from the lodge, so it will be quite comfortable to watch.”

Saturday’s Home Hardware Sprints run 12pm – 4pm while Sunday features the RHB Schmits de Grace Free Technique from 10am – 1pm.

Over 200 skiers from across the province are expected to participate if the weather cooperates. Race regulations prevent races from starting if temperatures dip below -20, or -15 for younger racers.
