Third sighting of suspicious white pickup near Prince George Elementary school

Numerous times over the last few weeks, Prince George schools have sent out notices to parents regarding suspicious vehicles in their area.

According to a letter to parents from Heritage Elementary sent out today (Wednesday), last Friday a white pickup truck pulled into the bus lane at Quinson Elementary and was left running. When a staff person approached the vehicle, the driver left slowly via 2nd Avenue, turned north on Quinn before turning around in a driveway and heading south.

The letter said the vehicle was in sight of the school until 2:55 pm and “drove slowly the whole time it was in the area,” and had a dirty tailgate.

Another incident happened on February 25th, when the driver of a white pickup truck allegedly asked a student to get in their vehicle outside of DP Todd.

Prince George RCMP also received a report of an incident where an adult male driving a white pickup truck had followed an elementary school student around 2:30 in the afternoon on February 19th.

UPDATE:

RCMP issued this news release Wednesday night.

Shortly after 3:00 PM on Friday, March 1st, 2019, the Prince George RCMP received a report of a white pickup truck driving slowly around an elementary school.
The incident occurred near Quinson Elementary School, located on Ogilvie Street in Prince George. The truck was described as a white pickup with a very dirty tailgate and was reportedly looping slowly around the school. The vehicle was not observed picking up any children from the school.
This occurrence has details similar to two incidents that occurred on February 19th and February 25th near Heritage Elementary School. In both of those incidents, an adult male driving a white truck had approached children after school. In this latest incident, there was no description available for the driver of the vehicle.
The investigation into these incidents is continuing. Investigators would like to speak to the person involved or anyone who may have witnessed the incident(s).
