UHNBC recognized among the best hospitals in Canada

Prince George’s University Hospital is ranked in the top 100 in Canada according to a report from Newsweek.

Hospitals who were ranked based on indicators like a recommendation from peers as well as patient experiences.

Northern Health Spokesperson Eryn Collins tells My PG Now while they’re happy to be recognized in 84th spot, there’s still more to work to be done.

“At the end of the day, we are continually working on improvements and keeping an eye on those measures that would indicate how our system is doing and how we’re measuring up in that system and where we note what areas need improvement is what needs to take place.”

UHNBC was one of nine hospitals in BC to be ranked in the report.

While they may have come in at the lower echelon of the ranking, Collins adds they feel quite positive about the recognition.

“Rather than look at it as being bottom of the pack, the hospital is ranked in the Top 100 in Canada. It is as I have mentioned challenging to try and compare hospitals and rank them in an order that way depending on what the rankings are based on.”

A total of eleven countries were selected during the online survey.
