The Fred Page Cup stepped foot in Prince George yesterday for the first time ever after the Spruce Kings returned home.

Fans packed the parking lot outside the RMCA, refusing to allow rain ruin their warm welcome.

The Spruce Kings completed the four-game sweep over the Vernon Vipers by a 3-1 score on Wednesday to go 16-1 in the 2019 BCHL Playoffs.

The Spruce Kings are off to the Doyle Cup against the Alberta Champion Brooks Bandits starting April 26th and also receive an automatic berth in the RBC Cup National Junior A Championship.

WORLD U-18 MEN’S HOCKEY CHAMPIONSHIP

Prince George Cougars’ goaltender Taylor Gauthier is making his nation proud.

After making 39 saves in Team Canada’s comeback victory yesterday, Gauthier followed it up with a 24-save performance today against the Swiss as Canada went on to improve to 2-0 with a 7-4 victory.

The Canadians will face the Czech Republic on Tuesday.
