Kodiaks come away unscathed to win provincial championship

The Prince George Kodiaks U-18 boys bumped and spiked their way to a perfect record at the provincial club volleyball championships in Richmond.

Prince George defeated the Seaside Sixpack in two sets (25-22, 25-19) in the Gold Medal match at the Olympic Oval.

Heading into the tournament ranked fifth, the Kodiaks went the entire championship without losing a single set in their seven matches played during the two-day event.

Matt Shand was named Tournament MVP.

Next up for the squad is a trip to the Volleyball Canada National Championships from May 8-10, held at the Enercare Centre in Toronto.
