And on the third day, they worked again.
Ground has been broken on Prince George’s new Fire Hall on Massey Drive, construction started three days ago.

The new hall, which the city estimates will cost $15 million to build, will be approximately 50% larger than the current facility and have the capacity to house a functional and well-designed Emergency Operations Centre and Fire Operations Communications Centre.
A referendum in October of 2017 showed that nearly 83% of voters in the city were in favour of rebuilding the 60-year-old fire hall that exists downtown now.
“It’s quite exciting to see that there is dirt starting to be moved and we’re moving forward in a functional way now to get this building constructed,” said Deputy Fire Chief Cliff Warren.
“It better situates the fire hall in a more central location so it’ll improve the times for us to get to many points of the city.”
Construction will also result in a new access point for the YMCA of Northern BC, which will be off Massey across from Masich Place Stadium and via Del Laverdure Way.
