Kings of the Doyle Cup

The Prince George Spruce Kings are champions again!

After winning the BCHL title on the road in Vernon, the Spruce Kings captured the Doyle Cup on home ice, to the delight of a standing room only crowd of 2,112.

The Spruce Kings 20th consecutive home win was a come-from-behind effort.

Trailing the Brooks Bandits 2-1 after two, Prince George scored three unanswered goals in the third to post a 4-2 victory.

The Spruce Kings won the series 4-2 and improved their post-season record to 20-3.

Chong Min Lee tallied the winner at the 15:17 mark and Patrick Cozzi iced the game with an empty netter with 20 seconds left.

Cozzi, with a goal and an assist, notched five points in the final three games of the series, all won by Prince George.

Ben Brar tied the game at 2 at 9:55 of the 3rd.

Lucas Vanroboys had the other P.G. goal in the first period.

Logan Neaton made 22 saves as Prince George outshot Brooks 25-24.

Both teams will compete at the national junior A championship May 11-19 in Brooks.
