Doucette Realty says goodbye after 35 years

After serving Prince George for the past 35 years, Doucette Realty has decided to close its doors.

The real estate business was founded back in 1984 by Sid Doucette and his son Martin told MYPGNOW the time was right to walk away.

“It was my turn to kick back and relax. After my father passing a few years ago and my brother a handful of years before that, I just decided my family was the most important thing.”

Doucette adds while their 5th Avenue location is now closed to the public, they are helping all agents with the transition period to a new office.

“We are in the transition of having our representatives move offices and basically, we just felt it was time since we served the community for over 35 years and we are so thankful for that.”

The whole experience in the real estate game has been a fun ride, to say the least.

“It does have a lot of emotion in there as I have a lot of fantastic memories as we’ve had a lot of wonderful clients and a lot of real estate professionals that we have dealt with. The community of Prince George has given to us and we have been happy to provide this service for so many years.”

Doucette believes the timing was right to move forward and leave on a high note.
