NBA:

In a major trade, the Los Angeles Lakers reached an agreement to acquire three-time All-NBA forward Anthony Davis from the New Orleans Pelicans for three players and three first-round draft picks.

The Lakers gave up Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, Josh Hart and the picks — including the No. 4 overall selection in Thursday’s NBA draft — to the Pelicans.

The trade cannot be finalized until July 6.

The Raptors will hold their championship parade Monday in Toronto.

Two weeks down the road on June 30th, NBA Finals MVP Kawhi Leonard can begin negotiating with teams as a free agent.

Players can’t officially be signed until July 6.

PG COUGARS:

The Prince George Cougars will play five pre-season games but none at CN Centre.

The Cougars face off in Langley September 6th against the Kamloops Blazers and on the 7th vs. the Vancouver Giants.

P.G. will travel to Kelowna to face the Rockets on the 8th before playing a pair of exhibition games against the Edmonton Oil Kings in Dawson Creek on the 12th and 14th.

UNBC TIMBERWOLVES:

The Canada West 2019 regular season soccer schedules are out.

The UNBC men play 15 games, seven at home and eight on the road beginning at UBC Okanagan Aug 23rd with their home opener a week later against Fraser Valley.

The UNBC women have six home games starting Sept 5th vs Thompson Rivers, and they also play eight on the road.
