Hartford named new Plant Manager for Pacific Western Brewery

After 50 years of service, Tom Leboe will be enjoying the retired life as he steps away from his Plant Manager position at the Prince George Pacific Western Brewery.

Cindy Hartford, who started in PWB’s Quality Assurance Department back in 1996, was announced as the one to fill the position.

“We are excited that Cindy will bring her expertise and keen attention to detail to her new role,” PWB CEO Taizan Komatsu said. “It is with much motion that we announce the retirement of Tom Leboe after almost 50 years of loyal service to PWB. Tom’s dedication to PWB has made a difference that is hard to adequately measure.”

Cindy started in the Quality Assurance Department in 1996. Over the years, she has worked in developing “ready to drink” products like the brewery’s many vodka sodas and ciders, as well as ensuring that the QA department ran smoothly.

“In early 2018, Cindy distinguished herself during the installation of the New Krones Filler and Pasteurizer, ensuring the project was accomplished on time and on budget, according to Komatsu.

She was recognized by being promoted to Operations Manager, which she has served ever since. She will assume her Plant Manager duties come Septemeber.

Hartford told MyPGNow that she’s up for the challenge of filling Leboe’s shoes following his retirement.

“I know I’m going to be filling big shoes with Tom,” she said. “I’m so excited to bring this plant to the next level, whether it be other beverages or other markets. Whatever it is, we’re ready for it.”
