Prince George Cougars captain Sam Ruopp has been suspended five games by the WHL for a knee on knee hit Tuesday against Everett. Ruopp was given a five minute kneeing major and a game misconduct for the infraction. It is his second knee major and game misconduct this season. He sat out Wednesday’s rematch against Everett that was won the Silvertips 4-1. Ruopp will also miss road games against Medicine Hat Friday, Lethbridge Saturday and Kootenay Sunday plus a home game against Seattle on January 30th.
