The Prince George RCMP were part of an eventful incident at a busy intersection on Friday.
Corporal Craig Douglass told MyPGNow that the situation stemmed from the quick thinking of an off-duty officer.
“An off-duty RCMP officer recognized what he believed to be a stolen vehicle in Prince George. He then called that into the detachment and front line officers were able to locate that vehicle during a high-risk takedown on 15th Avenue and Central Street.”
Douglass has since confirmed that the identity of the man arrested is 27-year-old Gordon Wilfred Pagens of Prince George. He was charged with possession of stolen property obtained by crime over $5,000.
He is scheduled to appear in court today after being kept in custody through the weekend.
