WHL: (PG Cougars)

Victoria Royals  3  Prince George Cougars  2  (SO)

Taylor Gauthier stopped 31 of the 33 shots he faced on Saturday night against the Royals.

Down by one with 1:27 remaining, the Cougars pulled their goalie in favour of the man advantage. It’d pay off for the Cougars as Ryan Schoettler netted the equalizer while on the powerplay, forcing overtime.

A conclusion wouldn’t be found in the extra frame, however, as the game would wrap up in a shootout with the Royals taking the victory off the shot of Gary Haden.
