As October kicks off, as does City’s Talktober

With today turning the page from September, Talktober events are now being held at the Prince George Conference and Civic Centre.

Mayor Lyn Hall, members of Council, and staff will be on-hand from noon to 8:00 p.m., and presentations will be held at 12:15 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. both today (Tuesday) and tomorrow (Wednesday). Each presentation will be followed by a question and answer session facilitated by Mayor Hall. There will also be displays and staff from the Service Centre on-hand to take service requests from residents.

The City of Prince George is also providing residents with an online opportunity to express their opinions about the budget allocations for various City services and functions.

Feedback will be collected through the month of October via the Talktober Online Budget Survey, which was first used by the City in 2015 and continues to be part of the Talktober period of citizen consultations and public events.

The Online Survey provides an opportunity for respondents to enter their property assessment into the interactive budget simulator to see how their personal property tax is allocated across a variety of City operations. The tool also indicates how their choices about the financial allocations to various City services would be reflected in their property taxes.
The survey results will be presented for Council’s consideration at the outset of the 2020 budget deliberations.

The Talktober online Budget Survey is available through the City’s Talktober web page.

Submissions will be accepted until October 31, 2019.
