Snowstorm causes outage

Due to Friday night’s snowstorm, around 150 people are in the dark.

BC Hydro says that due to the storm, power is out from Ferry Ave., Eastern St., Sintich Rd.,Old Summit Lake Rd., Continental Way, Rock Island Rd., Shields Rd., Barnes Rd., Pinko Rd., the 5100 Block of the Hart Hwy, PG Pulp Mill Rd., and East on Hwy 97.

Flights have been cancelled at the Prince George Airport. YXS Spokesperson Lindsay Cotter says “Passengers scheduled to take off or land tonight are being asked to contact their airline to make arrangements.”

The power is estimated to return by 2:00 a.m..

Power is also out at the PG Airport.

Local MLAs gearing up for forum focused on business and retail crime

The Prince George Hospice Palliative Care Society will be hosting a watch party as Prince George is put on display for Canada to see. Earlier this year, The Amazing Race Canada filmed an episode in Prince George, which includes the local sibling team of Grace Dove and Joe Syme.

Kodiaks lose to Sun in defensive matchup

The Prince George Kodiaks may have dropped a 35-11 decision to the Okanagan Sun in Kelowna Saturday, but they shouldn't be hanging their heads.  The Kodiaks started off strong against the reigning BC Football Conference champions, with big defensive stops leading to points for Prince George.
