Tourism in Prince George saw notable upward trend in 2019

This past year was an exciting one for PG, according to Tourism Prince George.

“We saw a 22% increase in visitors coming through our visitor centre from April to June and a 6% overall increase in visitors for the entire year,” said spokesperson Annie Doran.

Doran emphasized the impact of seasonal tourism in the city, as the organization continues to “market local events and attractions all year round.”

Events hosted at the CN Centre continue to draw interest, especially following the infrastructure upgrades that occurred for the 2015 Canada Winter Games.

Looking ahead to 2020, Tourism Prince George is excited about several new hotel openings and proposals, planned meetings and conventions, and sports tourism which is expected to be “very busy” in the new year.
