Record breaking Lotto Max jackpot inspires locals to try their luck

What would you do if you won $70-million dollars?

The record-breaking Lotto Max jackpot was not won last week, but there is another chance tomorrow (Tuesday).

In addition to the grand prize, there are approximately 25 Maxmillion prizes available.

Friday’s (January 3rd) draw resulted in eight Maxmillion wins, but no big winner, marking the second time Canadians will play for $70 million.

MyPGNow took to the streets to ask if the record jackpot is inspiring people to spend more than they usually do at the lottery counter.

“I would share it with my family and go on a holiday, and probably buy a new vehicle,” said Joanne, a Prince George resident.

Other respondents were not so sure.

“I would probably spend about 20-30 dollars on this one. I normally spend about 12 dollars,” said Jager Mason.

“I haven’t decided what I would do, I still have plans to make,” he added.

Local resident William Wesley explained he plays Keno often, but he is willing to spend more for a chance to win big.

“I have a big family, so I have to take care of everybody,” he said.

“I would get my wife the dream house she always wanted, get myself a truck or a nice little SUV and go traveling!”

Lotto Max enhancements were introduced in May 2019 and, in addition to increasing the maximum jackpot to $70 million, a second draw was added on Tuesdays.
