Big things in store for Tourism Prince George, as new CEO is announced

Following an eventful 2019, Tourism Prince George announced its new CEO earlier today (Friday).

The new head of the organization will be Tracey McBride, who has worked in tourism for over 18 years.

McBride hopes to integrate traditional tourist activities with both local and First Nations experiences.

“I worked in Ontario with the Six Nations, and an organization that was, at that time, called the Southern Ontario Aboriginal Tourism Association,” McBride explained.

She also expressed interest in attracting more young tourists to the city.

“Millennials that are travelling right now are travel pioneers, they’ll try something really new and advocate for it all over social media.”

McBride expressed the desire to develop a variety of different types of tourism in the city, from sporting or cultural events to health and wellness tours.
