First Nations Major Projects Coalition aims to help Indigenous communities regain financial independence

The First Nations Major Projects Coalition (FNMPC) will host the 3rd Annual Industry Engagement Event in Prince George from March 2nd to 3rd.

The event gathers First Nations representatives and industry leaders to discuss business growth and building relationships between Indigenous communities and industry.

“Our goal from the beginning was to create an event where indigenous and industry leaders could meet and discuss new projects and business growth to benefit both parties,” said FNMPC Chair Chief Sharleen Gale.

“These conversations are very important to the future success of Indigenous communities which are looking to regain their economic independence.”

According to FNMPC, event panels will cover project financing, best practices. indigenous success in project development, navigating the new environmental assessment process, and implications of the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP) on resource development.

PG Mounties looking for man wanted for theft

Nomination period opens for Business Excellence Awards

The five finalists in each Business Excellence Awards category and the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award will be revealed at a lunchtime announcement at Knox Performance Centre on September 11th.
