Evacuation alerts lifted for Upper Mud River Road and Chilako River areas

The Regional District of Fraser-Fort George has lifted all evacuation alerts and orders for the Upper Mud River Road and Chilako River areas.

Threat of flooding and evacuation alerts and orders were prompted by rising waters in the area, which have now subsided.

However, although the risk of flooding has reduced, the Regional District reminds residents throughout the region that rivers and streams can be unpredictable this time of year.

Residents are encouraged to have emergency kits prepared, important documents protected, and stay alert for warning signs.
