Smithers native and Vancouver Canuck Dan Hamhuis is talking about his decision to go in on purchasing the Prince George Cougars.
Hamhuis joined with Greg Pocock, Eric Brewer, Ray Fortier and others to purchase the team.
Hamhuis now owns fifteen per cent of the Cougars and says he will be hands-on when it comes to working with the players and sharing his knowledge of hockey.
He says the team has a great foundation with talented players and the new owners are hoping to work with staff and players to create a successful team.
Hamhuis says he has dreamed about buying a junior team and when the opportunity came up to purchase the team he used to play for it seemed like a good fit.
