Prince George has lost a huge community supporter.
Bill Bond passed away last night (Monday) at St. Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver, at age 70.
He was married 41 years to Prince George-Valemount MLA Shirley Bond.
Shirley shared the news on her Facebook page, which has received in excess of 1,200 comments and over 100 shares on the platform.
“The time has come for me to share some news that has broken my heart. Some of you know that my husband Bill has been facing a series of health challenges during the last few months,” the post reads.
“His heart, kidneys, crushed vertebrae, the list goes on. The final challenge was a massive left-brain stroke that Billy just couldn’t manage despite his courageous efforts.”
Bill was a grad of PGSS and CNC who worked a number of years for the city.
Condolences and reactions have poured in on social media from far and wide.
