No jail time for Quesnel man who sexually assaulted teenage girl

There will be no jail time for a Quesnel man who pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting a teenager.

46-year old old George William Alexis was sentenced in provincial court in Prince George to two years probation and also received a mandatory 10-year firearms prohibition.

Two other charges: sexual interference of a person under 16 and assault with a weapon, were stayed.

The charges are in connection to an incident that occurred back on January 10th.

Quesnel RCMP say a female youth was attacked in the alley by Malcolm Drive, but say the man was interrupted by another man who came to the girl’s aid.

The suspect was arrested the following day.
