Inquest into sawmill disaster to begin this week

Questions as to what led to the Lakeland Mills explosion will be answered starting Monday.
The Coroner’s Inquest into the April 2012 disaster will begin at the Prince George Courthouse starting at nine am.
Coroner’s Service Spokesperson Barb McLintock says an inquest is a public airing of all the facts.
“So basically one of the advantages of the inquest is that all the evidence will be heard,” says McLintock, “and any member of the public can come and watch, and this is important for the community to get some sense of closure, and make sure that feel that they get their questions answered.”
McLintock says the coroner’s jury will be making practical recommendations based on evidence presented.
The inquest is expected to go for the next three weeks.
