The Mayor of Prince George says the Canada Winter Games could be a stepping stone to something bigger.
Lyn Hall says the past two weeks have been showing the nation what the community is all about.
“Not just from a sports perspective, but also from the citizens of Prince George, how they embrace these games, that really stands out to me,” he says.
Hall says the city now has the opportunity to vie for other huge events.
He says some options include the BC Senior Games, the Memorial Cup and Western Canada sporting events.
But he says the costs to hold such events need to be there.
