A 20-year-old Edmonton man has been arrested in Prince George after fleeing from police during an attempted traffic stop.
Prince George RCMP tried to stop a vehicle near 6th Avenue and Victoria street at about 1:20 this afternoon (Wednesday), after observing the man using a cellphone while driving.
The driver of the vehicle failed to stop for police and fled the area.
Multiple officers were requested to assist with tracking down the driver.
The vehicle was located abandoned on Brunswick Street a short time later, and the man was arrested near 7th and Victoria.
The investigation remains ongoing and the man will appear in court at a later date, pending charges.
