–The Vancouver Canucks are a win away from a berth in the NHL Western Conference Final. Thatcher Demko did it again with an amazing 48 saves to post the shutout as the Canucks skunked the Vegas Golden Knights 4-0 to tie the series 3-3.
Vegas has outshot Vancouver 91-40 in the last two games where Demko has a .986 save percentage.
(after posting a .905 save percentage in the regular season). The Canucks and Golden Knights meet in Game 7 tonight at 6:00 (PT) in the Edmonton bubble.
–The Colorado Avalanche and Dallas Stars play their 7th and deciding game this afternoon (1:00 PT).
–Ivan Provorov scored at 15:03 of the second overtime and Carter Hart made a career-high 49 saves to lead the Philadelphia Flyers to a 5-4 victory over the New York Islanders. The series is tied 3-3 with all Philadelphia wins coming in overtime. They face off in Game 7 on Saturday (4:30 PM PT) in Toronto.
NBA:
–The Toronto Raptors are back in their series against the Boston Celtics after a dramatic victory. The Raptors got the winning three-pointer at the buzzer (from OG Anunoby) to post a 104-103 triumph. The Celtics still lead the NBA Eastern Conference semifinal 2-1 with Game 4 Saturday (3:30 PM PT).
–The LA Clippers crushed the Denver Nuggets 120-97 in the opener of their Western Conference semifinal. They will play again Saturday night at 6:00 (PT).
–The LA Lakers battle the Houston Rockets in Game 1 of their second-round series tonight at 6:00.
–The Miami Heat, up 2-0 against the top-ranked Milwaukee Bucks, go back on the court today (3:30 PM).
–At age 46, Steve Nash has his first head coaching job. The Hall of Fame guard from Victoria signed a four-year contract with the Brooklyn Nets.
MLB:
–The Toronto Blue Jays scored four runs in the 10th inning to beat the Boston Red Sox 6-2. The (20-16) Jays visit the (12-26) Red Sox again today (1:10 PT) in Boston.
