Variety Radiothon surpasses $40-grand to help local children and families

The 16th Variety Children’s Charity Radiothon has surpassed this year’s goal by raising $40,104 in Prince George and Vanderhoof.

A total of 213 bears (donations of $100+) will be making their way into the hands of children in hospital.

The two-day event was aired on 94.3 The Goat and Country 97.3 FM.

The children’s charity has supported over 300 families in the area with medical supplies, mobility equipment, speech therapy, mental health counselling, etc.

According to Variety, the charity plans to surprise a child with an adaptive tricycle, and a continuous glucose monitor later this year.

The trike has been given to Ella and her mom, Sherry of Prince George.

Sherry says the trike will allow Ella to ride a bike with the rest of her friends, as it is made especially for her.
