Prince George man charged in Yaletown home invasions

Charges have been approved against an 18-year-old Prince George man in relation to two home invasions last month in Yaletown in Vancouver.

Gary David John has been charged with two counts of robbery, two counts of break-and-enter, two counts of assault, and one count of disguise with intent.

“Understandably, this was very unsettling for residents of the neighborhood,” said Constable Tania Visintin with the Vancouver Police Department in a news release.

“Through some diligent police work and full cooperation from the victims, investigators were able to identify the suspect in a short amount of time,” she added.

The suspect allegedly broke into two different residences on two different dates.

Global News reported a woman awoke on September 3 to find a stranger wielding a knife in her townhouse unit.

In a second incident, a different woman also told Global she awoke to a noise in her home on September 16, and was allegedly threatened by a man with a knife.
