Prince George: The Volunteer City

The City of Prince George now has a new moniker.

“Prince George: The Volunteer City” is the new nickname that was unveiled during the city’s hundredth anniversary celebrations over the weekend.

Mayor Lyn Hall says from an official perspective, this title is now ours.

“It’s Prince George’s, we’ve identified and I think set the bar that we are a volunteer city,” says Hall, “and people can use it on their letterhead if they choose, they can use it for a number of fashions, that’s really what it was designed for.”

Hall says this can be used city wide at any volunteer run event.

He says its absolutely unbelievable how many people step up to plate and volunteer in the city.

Something going on in the Prince George area you think people should know about?
