Three people have been arrested after a stolen truck was involved in a serious collision along Highway 97 in Prince George.
This led to six people being hospitalized, two of which were paramedics, however, their injuries are not considered life-threatening.
Just after 11:15 am today (Wed), the RCMP and emergency crews located two pick-up trucks and an ambulance involved in the incident.
The investigation led officers to believe the stolen vehicle was driven through a ditch on to the highway striking the median barricade, colliding with a southbound ambulance, which then made contact with another truck towing a trailer.
The ambulance was transporting two patients and alcohol and speed are considered factors.
A portion of the highway was closed for several hours.

BC Emergency Health Services provided the following statement to MyPGNow.com
Shortly after 11 am this morning a BC Emergency Health Services ambulance was transporting a patient on Highway 97 near Prince George when it was struck by a vehicle near the Queensway onramp.
Another vehicle travelling on the highway was also struck. Several ambulances were dispatched to the scene.
Six patients, including the two paramedics in the ambulance and their patient, have been taken to hospital.
The safety of our patients and staff is critically important to us. Early indications are that everyone in the incident is in stable condition.

Emergency crews are at the scene of a three-vehicle accident along Highway 97 near the Carmel in Prince George.
According to the police, they received the call at 11:13 this morning (Wednesday).
Some injuries are being reported, however, the severity of them is not known at this time.
Motorists are being asked to avoid the area if possible.
