NFL:
–Aaron Rodgers passed for 305 yards and four touchdowns to lead the Green Bay Packers to a 34-17 victory over the undermanned San Francisco 49ers to begin week 9 of the NFL season. The Packers are 6-2 and the 49ers sit 4-5. San Francisco was without several key players that were either injured or on the reserve/COVID-19 list.
–The NFL has fined the Las Vegas Raiders and coach Jon Gruden a total $650,000 and docked a sixth-round draft pick for repeated violations of the league’s COVID-19 protocols. The Raiders have become the first team to be stripped of a draft pick following multiple violations.
NBA:
–The NBA season will begin on Dec. 22. The decision was finalized after the Players’ Association voted to tentatively approve the league’s proposal of a reduced 72-game schedule for the 2020-21 season.
Hockey:
–The Prince George Spruce Kings play their 4th preseason game when they host the Merritt Centennials Saturday at the RMCA (without fans). The Spruce Kings won two of three exhibition games against the Centennials in October. Brandon Dent, Hunter Brown, Blake Astorino and Alex Ochitwa of PG play for Merritt.
