Prince George Salvation Army receives $25,000 cheque to meet increasing demand of services

The Canadian Vocational Training Centre (CVTC) made a $25,000 donation to the Prince George Salvation Army.

“We value the work that The Salvation Army undertakes in our community and the diverse support that the charity undertakes,” said CVTC President and CEO, Cal Purcell, “this is just one of the ways we can help the Salvation Army.”

The Salvation Army is preparing to respond to an increased need within the community and is expecting to serve an extra 180 households in PG this year.

“This is a huge donation and it means the world to us especially with COVID Christmas, a lot of our fundraising techniques have been turned upside-down,” explained Neil Wilkinson, Captain of the PG Salvation Army.

To assist with the increasing demand for the Salvation Army services, the charity is hosting its #ChristmasChallenge campaign to raise awareness of the growing demand the organization is experiencing.

Today (Tuesday), the CVTC announced they will be challenging UNBC and CNC to participate in the campaign.
