PG Blood Clinic has plenty of appointments available

Canadian Blood Services is once again calling on the public, hoping to fill nearly 900 open appointments in the next two months.

Blood services Amy Danjal says it usually takes a specific personal event in ones life to see a donation:

“A lot of people that we meet they never give blood until they knew somebody, somebody in their family needed blood and then they realized how important it was to be one of those people who are giving blood to ensure that if you go into the Hospital the blood is there when you need it”

Danjal says BC is actually not self-sufficient and imports most of its blood supply from out of Province due to a lack of donations.

She encourages everyone to not be shy and to make a quick 30 minute appointment at the local blood clinic.
