The Holiday Checkstop program for the Prince George RCMP continues to show its effectiveness.
The detachment’s Traffic Services Unit has continued its enforcement efforts in the lead-up to Christmas weekend.
Police conducted roving checks at multiple locations between December 17th and 21st.
As a result of this enforcement, the following Motor Vehicle Act violations were issued:
- 9-90 day Immediate Roadside Prohibitions
- 1-3 day Immediate Roadside Prohibition
- 11-Vehicle Impoundments
- 2-24 hour Provincial Driving Prohibitions for alcohol
- 1-12 hour Provincial Roadside Suspension for alcohol
“Although the dynamic of traffic enforcement has changed during the COVID-19 pandemic, the fact is impaired driving remains one of the leading causes of serious and fatal motor vehicle collisions on our roads,” said Sergeant Kyle Ushock, head of Prince George RCMP’s Traffic Services Unit.
