The PG Return it and Recycling Centre has announced last call for its Beer Pilot Program.
As of yesterday (Monday), they rolled back the refund price of beer bottles and cans to five cents per unit or 90 cents for a dozen.
Representatives from Labatts, Molson Coors, and Sleeman have not issued a license to their depot for handling beer and alcohol cans for recycling.
As a result, their 90 facilities across the province are not being paid to manage these containers and can’t provide a full refund.
The issue has been brought to the attention of the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change.
